Welcome to Prosely

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Prosely, a writing platform operated by [Your Company Name] ("we", "us", "our"). By using Prosely, you agree to these Terms.

Please note: Prosely is currently in beta. These terms may be updated before our full public launch.

Your Content, Your Rights

You own everything you write. Full stop.

When you create stories, manuscripts, notes, or any other content on Prosely:

• You retain 100% ownership of your work
• You retain all copyright and intellectual property rights
• We claim no ownership whatsoever over your content
• We claim no intellectual property rights to your work
• Your writing belongs to you, not us

We believe writers should own their words. Prosely is simply a tool to help you create—what you create is entirely yours.

Our Limited License to Operate

To provide our service, we need your permission to:

• Store your content on our servers
• Display your content back to you
• Create backups to protect your work
• Transmit your content when you access it

This license is:

• Limited: Only for operating the service
• Non-exclusive: You can use your content anywhere else
• Revocable: Delete your account and we delete your content

We will never:

• Sell your content
• Use your writing to train AI models
• Share your work without your explicit permission
• Claim any rights beyond what's needed to run Prosely

Your Account

To use Prosely, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU/UK)
• Provide accurate information when registering
• Keep your password secure
• Notify us if you suspect unauthorised access

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Acceptable Use

Please don't use Prosely to:

• Upload content that infringes others' copyrights
• Store or distribute illegal material
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to hack or disrupt our service
• Create multiple accounts to abuse our systems

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Prosely available, but we cannot guarantee:

• 100% uptime or uninterrupted access
• That the service will be error-free
• That features won't change during beta

We're a small team building something we love. We'll do our best, but please keep backups of important work.

Beta Period

Prosely is currently in beta testing. This means:

• Features may change, be added, or removed
• Bugs may occur (please report them!)
• The service is provided "as is"
• Pricing and plans may change before launch

Your patience and feedback help us build a better platform for all writers.

Data and Privacy

Your privacy matters. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your personal data.

Your writing content is private by default. We don't read, analyse, or access your work unless required for technical support at your request.

Exporting Your Work

You can export your content at any time. We believe in data portability—you should never feel locked in.

If Prosely ever shuts down, we will:

• Give you advance notice
• Provide tools to export all your content
• Ensure you have time to retrieve your work

Intellectual Property of Prosely

While you own your content, we own Prosely itself:

• Our platform, code, and technology
• The Prosely name, logo, and branding
• Our website design and user interface

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:

• Prosely is provided "as is" without warranties
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to fees you've paid us in the past 12 months

This doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or through the platform. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion:

• We will delete your personal data within 30 days
• We will delete your content from our servers
• Some data may remain in backups for a limited time

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where possible.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
